The story so far from Dalswinton

So much has been going on down at Dalswinton Guest House since we took over in early 2015. As well as welcoming many returning guests we’ve had the pleasure of making many new friends at Dalswinton. New visitors and their dogs have been making the journey to North Cornwall and enjoying the breath taking scenery on offer. Long walks on the beautiful dog friendly beaches. The Japanese Garden – A garden for all seasons

The Japanese Garden in St. Mawgan is just a stones throw from our front door and is a highly recommended way to spend a few peaceful hours. An oasis of tranquillity set in 2 acres, the water stroll and Zen gardens offer a unique experience, both physical and spiritual. Stand on the ‘Tea-house’ balcony, watch the fish glide by, listen to the waterfall tumbling into the pool.Stroll the myriad of paths, absorbing the sights and smells and much more. A journey through this garden is an experience to remember. Spring: The garden awakens. Japanese maples unfurl in brightest reds and greens. Cherry blossom, camellias and more.Streams gurgle and birdsong fills the air. Summer: Azaleas, Japanese maples and an abundance of flowers and foliage in full splendour. Bamboos whisper in gentle summer breezes. Dragonflies and damselflies hover over the swimming koi. Autumn: Japanese maples perform spectacular colour changes: bold and soft golds, greens, oranges and reds transform the garden, before dropping gently into rest. Winter: Fantastic shapes in wood and stone, hidden in summer, reappear now. Evergreens and winter flowering plants colour the landscape, and the slumbering tress display their intricate forms. Dramatic architecture revealed. The gardens are open alll year, […]
